Ready, Steady, dance!

It has been all systems go behind the scenes but now we are about to launch into a full on programme of activity for the next 14 months.

It all starts on 18 February with twelve Hertfordshire residents working with Moving Memory Dance Theatre to create a performance and workshop package at The Old Town Hall.  This will be premiered on 22 February alongside a performance on Moving Memory Dance Theatre’s Beyond the Marigolds and will then go out on tour to arts venues, Sheltered Housing venues and community centres from March to May.

Dance practitioners can sign up for professional development sessions with Danielle Teale, Diane Amans, Green Candle and Filipa Pereira-Stubbs.

For everyone we have the Dance Re:Ignite Festival at The Weston Auditorium on 27 April.  This will include opportunities to take part in a variety of workshops, meet other people and work with professional dance artists in different dance styles.  There are also opportunities for groups to come along and perform and Moving Memory Dance Theatre will be returning with a performance of Tipping the Balance.

Then lots more to follow that!

Dance Re:Ignite has been made possible by an Arts Council England Project Grant.  Additional support from: Hertfordshire Music Service, Welwyn Hatfield Council, Watford Borough Council, Dacorum Borough Council and local County  Councillor Locality Budget and Community budget support. Produced in partnership with Hertfordshire Sports Partnership, Dacorum Community Dance, The Old Town Hall in Hemel Hempstead, Saracens Sports Foundation and Watford Museum.
