Beyond the Marigolds

The Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead

Friday 22 February 2019, 7.30pm

“It was like nothing else I have seen - thought-provoking, emotional, wonderful”

“so life and age enhancing"

Daring, comic, and moving, Moving Memory Dance Theatre Company’s will take you on a journey through life’s messy acts of meaning. Featuring movement, music and projections, the show reveals the rich emotional hinterland held in secret by older women. The company peel off those iconic rubber gloves to revisit times of love, intimacy and sheer boredom and dredge the nooks and crannies of daily life and fantasy.

Moving Memory Dance Theatre Company create high quality performance opportunities with older people, for anyone who has an older woman in their life. We consider the funny side of things, the stuff of life, and all that moves us. Our sense of humour draws people in – but beware, the work often has a surprising twist!

Moving Memory Dance Theatre will be company in-residence at The Old Town Hall from 18 - 22 February, which will result in a curtain-raiser performance by local people before the Beyond the Marigolds.

Beyond the Marigolds is presented at part of Dance Re:Ignite, a project managed by BEEE Creative CIC that celebrates dance for and by older adults in Hertfordshire.  The project is funded by Arts Council England.
