Lots more dancing to come for 2018/19
So Strictly in back on our screens and here at BEEE Creative we are back ready to put our dancing shoes on for the new academic year, with lots of exciting projects to look forward to. We have the on-going, Heritage Lottery Funded project, Museums in Motion but are also delighted to have received Arts Council England funding to develop Dance Re:Ignite and Big Lottery Fund grant to launch a new family project, A-MUSE.
In September and October, in partnership with makeAMPLIFY, Museums in Motion moves in to the new St Albans Museum + Gallery and Royston and District Museum and Art Gallery. We will also be launching an installation, created in collaboration with Young Carers Crew, at the new North Hertfordshire Museum. If you are interested in seeing any of this work please do get in touch as the team are always delighted to share the experience of this fabulous work.
Dance Re:Ignite, our programme of dance for older adults, will be officially launched in December. Then we will be looking for dancers to take part in a commissioned piece by Moving Memory Dance Theatre that will tour to 10 countywide venues. In addition there will be a one-day Festival in 2019 and 2020 at The Weston Auditorium (University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield) with workshops and performances open to all older adults. For local dance practitioners there is a schedule of 8 professional development dates to be released soon.
Finally, the A-MUSE project is a fun, new programme of family focussed dance activity, offering an opportunity for children and their parents/carers to get active and creative together. These will be running at Stevenage Museum on the 1st Saturday of every month and at Royston Museum every Friday from January (but with 9 one-off workshops throughout the Autumn).
Also look out for us at the Royston Arts Festival later this month and for schools, DO NOT miss out on the opportunity to take part in the CDTA Hertfordshire County Dance Festival (application deadline 11 October).
So a busy but exciting year ahead! We hope to see you at an event soon – so get those dancing shoes dusted off!!
