Welcome to our New Intern!

As we start building up to the launch of Museums In Motion 2.0, we are pleased to welcome Alicia Muscella to the team.

Hello I’m Alicia Muscella!

I am currently in my final year at Middlesex University studying a BA Hons Dance Studies (Choreography exit award) degree. I recently applied for the Intern role at BEEE Creative CIC and I will be providing administrative and practical support throughout the new project –Museums in Motion 2.0 – in dance and technology education. Being given this opportunity will help me pursue a career for the future in the creative industries, working alongside professional artists and supporting children through education in dance.

During my degree I have developed an understanding on collaborating alongside artists in the community and education work. I enjoy working with different age groups, being involved in many activities. I have recently finished a collaboration project with Wimbledon College of Arts designer students and choreography and Music students from Middlesex University. I enjoy collaborating and exploring different creativity with other individuals, who share similar a passion in creating dance performances. I originally went to Middlesex as a performer, however, over these past three years I have discovered a desire in choreography, and being able to choose the choreographic route for my third year enables me to express my artistic creations. When creating pieces, I tend to focus on my dancers input and their original ideas they have to bring to our rehearsals.

During my recent dance performances, I enjoy working with projection and exploring different ranges of lighting. I find it remarkable how much your piece comes to life when using different forms of technology. Having outstanding facilities in the dance theatre, giving us a variety of equipment we can explore with when creating our pieces, these final touches changes the performance perceptive.

Before applying for university, I used to work at my local dance school in Bedfordshire teaching ages 4-8 years in ballet, tap and modern theatre. I enjoyed working with children, seeing them progress through the years expanding their creative and physical skills through dance. Beyond dance my three-top interests are spending time with my family and friends, exploring different countries and going to the theatre (especially the West End Musicals).

I am extremely excited to be a part of BEEE Creative team, and cannot wait to start the upcoming projects this year!
