Improvising Generations (HCC)

Improvising Generations is a project devised and managed by Hertfordshire Music Service in collaboration with countywide partners. The project has been designed in response to demand from young people (with and without disabilities) for more opportunities to develop their leadership skills and a drive to increase dance provision for older adults.

Improvising Generations is a research project that will explore and shape the direction of future creative project in Hertfordshire by Hertfordshire Music Service.

Suitable for young dancers and musicians aged 14 – 18 years old (up to 25 years for young disabled adults) and adults aged over 55 years old.

There will be three days of practical dance and music workshops including aspects of:

  • Improvisation
  • Playing music for dance
  • Teaching dance with live musicians
  • Leadership / teaching skills
  • An opportunity to create and share a performance piece

Free of charge but advance booking essential.
