Could you help shape the direction of Hertfordshire Music Service dance projects? The team are looking for a mix of 30 young people and older adults to take part as dancers and musicians in research project that will explore and shape the direction of their future creative work in Hertfordshire.
What will I be doing?
There will be three days of practical dance and music workshops including aspects of:
• Playing music for dance
• Teaching dance with live musicians
• Leadership/teaching skills
• An opportunity to create and share a performance piece.
The workshops will be lead by artists from Hertfordshire Music Service and ActOne ArtsBase and used to explore contemporary and creative movement and music. All content will be learnt during the three days and no prior rehearsal or preparation will be needed.
When and where will it be?
The sessions will run from 15 – 17 February 2017 from 10am – 4pm each day
All of the sessions will take part at:
Mid Herts Centre for Music and Arts,
Who can take part?
• Ten young dancers aged 14 – 18 years (up to 25 years for young disabled adults)
• Ten older adult dancers aged 55+ years older
• Ten young musicians aged 14 – 18 years (up to 25 years for young disabled adults)
All spaces will be allocated on a first come-first served basis. Musicians can be players of any instrument (please enquire regarding the standard required). Dancers do not need any formal dance training, just a passion and commitment to dance.
The project is FREE of charge (subsidised by Hertfordshire Music Service) but
